Wayne Martin lives in the spectacular alpine resort of Wānaka, New Zealand. In early 2024, he left a successful career in mechanical engineering to concentrate on writing. Wayne writes mainly about history and travel, with articles published in several newspapers and lifestyle magazines, including The Otago Daily Times, Avenues, AA Directions and NZ Today.
After writing the privately commissioned corporate history, Strength to Strength: A 75-year history of Powell Fenwick Consultants, Wayne moved to longer form historical narrative. In 2016 his true crime book Murder on the Maungatapu was published by Canterbury University Press and shortlisted for the New Zealand Heritage Book Awards. Now free to write full time Wayne has several books underway and is available for a wide range of writing services.
